In the United States we suffer the loss of more than thirty-two thousand Americans to gun violence. That is on an average of eighty-seven deaths each day from children to adults, male or female. For example, on December 14, 2012, an exceptionally calamitous incident took place in Connecticut. This event was called the Sandy Hook Massacre, where one man named Adam Lanza entered the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting innocent children and staff members. Guns are becoming effortless to acquire for many reasons. All citizens have a right to keep and bear arms giving them a right to possess guns. Though this right from the first amendment is taken advantage of often. Some may profess putting laws on guns and trying to control who gets what, is taking away from the their rights. These background checks are very principal because it is necessary to see if there are any red flags that keep a dangerous or unstable person from getting the gun.
