I am stressed to my wit’s end and the only thing that can fix that right now is a pool, summer, and sleep. But currently I live off of 5 hours of sleep, it’s not summer, and I don’t have a pool. But honestly, it’s all worth it when I think about my future. I learned that nothing will ever go the way I want it to, but it’s okay. I want my boyfriend and his family to stay and live in Missouri but they’re moving to California in June. My boyfriend is pursuing video game development during college in Utah, 1,238 miles (18 hours and 36 minutes) away. I’m super sad that he’s leaving but if it makes him happy, it makes me happy. I also want to win the lottery, but we see where that has gotten me. When I plan something and something goes wrong, I try not to stress about it because it happened for a reason. I tell myself it’s okay so I’m not dwelling over the problem. …show more content…
I don’t know if going to Ozark Technical Community College for dental hygiene is the best option for me and I need someone to tell me that. I feel like I always need someone else there to tell me if I’m right or wrong, or if I’m truly making the best choice for myself. Jennifer Lee said, “be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” I carry that quote with me when I think about the future because I’m always scared of the outcome. Having that quote with me lets me know that what I want to do really does “set my soul on fire” and that I should be fearless going after my dreams. I have an irrational fear of letting go of the present to move on to the future. My life is good now and I don’t want to change it. I know that in one month, my entire life is going to be different and I don’t want it to

This quote inspires me to endure any hardships I experience for two reasons: it reminds me that there could be more difficult events I could face, and that my reward for enduring it will be a meaningful life experience. Because everyone experiences hardships in life, I can look at this quote and be reassured that I am not the only one with a certain problem, but I am also convinced that many people live through more severe events and therefore I can definitely withstand whatever life may give me. When I look at this quote, I recall all my past troubles and, more importantly, what I learned from those. The quote is similar in message to the “hang in there!”…

That quote was “Every day I remind myself to take the long view of all this. The current madness will have to end, eventually, I’ll simply need to outlast it, rather than allowing it to weaken me.” This quote means that even though times are rough you still gotta power through it because in the end it’s about your strength and your perseverance. It is not about you giving up because that will only result in regret rather than the thought that you tried your best. Another quote is “I heard my brother’s voice even though we were apart.…

My interests developed mainly from the push of my parents. Classes such as Scitech gave me an understanding of what engineers do which provided me with a great deal of interest. Other clubs such as Science Olympiad and TEAMS have also given me experiences that have fostered this interest in engineering with competitions and processes of creating something.…

In my opinion, I thought that this quote itself embodied what the author was trying to get the reader to understand through his book. My traditional, stable parents expected me to eventually graduate college and to become a successful, independent adult ever since I was born. Consequently, their influence to achieve at my highest potential has set me on the path to do so. Unlike the other Wes Moore, the author Wes Moore and myself included were set on the path to succeed because of the strong influence of our parents’ wishes for our futures.…

Growing up, I was faced with many adversities, just like a lot of students in California school systems. I was a female, Mexican-born immigrant, growing up in Oakland in a pretty rough neighborhood. In high school I demonstrated grit by applying myself and fighting the urge to quit and finally graduating, while the curriculum helped me, there was still many other burdens in my life apart from education. In community college, when I first began, the “Student fear factor” definitely applied to me because I did not know what college was even about. I was so used to just being in high school where most people did not care if you made it to college, and my family was so busy with work and trying to keep up with rent and bills, that they had no time…

“They say that college is where you find yourself, but I feel more lost than ever.” Although this may be true, I began to think I was looking for something to blame.
