My Family immigrated to the United States when I was just two years old. Growing up in an unknown place surrounded by a foreign language was difficult to say the least, if not for me then for my hardworking parents. This may have not been the most convenient of circumstances being raised in total isolation with no family, but it transformed me into the woman I am today. From this I have been able to appreciate my surroundings more, knowing the things people take for granted in the United States are privileges in other countries. As a possible incoming student, who not only desires to, but needs to learn and attend a favorable campus, the things that I can offer and/or bring are my experiences and skills. I will try to help enrich the campus community as much as I can. One of the reasons why I chose Cornell is to build my connections with people who are contributor, self-driven and well qualified. As said by my father in his native language and I translate, “Connections are very essential in your life son, if you want to spend time with anyone, spend it wisely. Be it on the roadside or in a coffee shop, your friends will define you and they are going to influence you in many ways.” I kept that on my mind and my future goal is also related with the connection that I’m going to make in America.…

I have been able to experience the culture of the countries I was visiting and able to observe the differences between theirs and mine. One thing caught my attention very quickly when I was visiting Ireland this past summer, and it was something I noticed in Italy too. That is that all of the people typically live the same. There was hardly any division of social class, something quite different from what goes on back in America. I live in the small and widely considered wealthy town of Haddonfield.…
