Beginning of Creation
In the beginning of creation there was chaos, Chaos was the chasm that first existed. The Greek word "chaos" (χάος) means emptiness. From the void arose Erebus primordial god of darkness and Nyx primordial goddess of the night. Then Eros primordial god of love appeared. However in some myths Eros is also considered as a son of Aphrodite not Chaos. From love, together Nyx and Erebus gave birth to Aether primordial god of the upper atmosphere, Hemera primordial goddess of the day. Once there was light and day, formed Gaia primordial goddess of the earth. Then light and day gave birth to Thalassa primordial goddess of the sea. She is the female counterpart of her brother Aether primordial god of light. She have one daughter Thalassa primordial goddess of the sea. When daytime arises, Nyx and Hemera greets each other with Hemera going toward earth and Nyx back to Tartarus.
Ananke personification of fate, necessity and destiny
Ananke was the primordial goddess of destiny, necessity and fate. She was one of the oldest primordial along with Nyx, Gaia, Erebus, Tartarus and Chronos. Ananke is often depicted holding a spindle. She is seen very powerful as she controls fate and is respected by mortals and gods alike. She is also considered the mother of the fates and is the only one which has a control over their decisions. Ananke is the female counterpart of Chronos primordial of time.

They were the rulers before the gods ruling the Golden age. Gaia was also the one who persuaded Kronos to slice his father Ouranos using the scythe that she created. She then sired the Cyclopes: Arges, Brontes and Steropes. Gaia also sired the Hecatonchires (the hundred handed ones : Briareus, Cottus and Gyes.
