Does achieving a goal take a lot of hard work? Of Mice and Men is a novel written by author John Steinbeck. This book has many meanings, basically, the story was about two displaced migrant which were friends and they had to move from place to place to work and have different job opportunities. After a while, they had some problems in their work which made it little hard for George and Lennie, to achieve their goals. George, Lennie, and Candy had to face some obstacles and they couldn't accomplish their dreams. Although they wanted to have freedom and own a little farm, this did not happen in the book because George made tough choices which cost them to lose their dreams and goals.

Many things happened during the story which stopped him from accomplishing and what he had done. On the other hand, Lennie needs someone like George to tell him what to do and not do also he needs someone to guide him and keep him out of trouble. “You get in trouble. You do bad things and I got to get you out”(p12). George is always by Lennie when he needs him. Additionally, “Lennie- if you jus' happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an' hide in the brush" (p16). This shows that George really cares about Lennie, and George is sure that he will get in trouble couple times, so he is giving his advice on what to do. His disability is that he can not remember things even if you say it more than once. He is upset at the puppy for dying. He does not take responsibility for being too rough with the puppy and begins to worry about George's reaction. He fears that George will not allow him to tend rabbits and contemplates hiding the dead puppy. This also shows that Lennie should not be left by himself because he pet things too hard, and he can kill someone easily. Second, he accidentally kills Curley's wife. She told him “Course I brush it a lot. That makes it fine. Here- feel right here" (p90). She took Lennie's hand and put it on her head. "Feel right around there and see how soft it is".
