We trick women to think they look better with makeup on”(Macklemore, Thin Lines) and this shouldn’t be how girls are being raised and tricked, society needs to step up to help girls know they are beautiful in their own individual ways without makeup, without being sickly thin, and without perfect skin but perfect as they are. Along with pressure to be perfect girls get a “gift” every month which is far from a gift, girls are overwhelmed with cramps, bleeding 24/7, bloating, emotional fluctuations, and headaches all for this “gift” of not choosing to carry a child starting at the average age of twelve. The gift of menstruation adds to girls stressful lives. They say men are competitive and are expected to be the providers of their families. The issues men have to deal with compared to women are equal to the size of a microcell that can only be viewed by a microscope. Competitiveness is an issue that men have to experience but in reality it's just to show they are better than another individual when we should not compare our abilities to others since we are all not equal.
