I basically grew up only knowing these rules and not being able to go out, I just began to believe these rules myself, that good girls belong at home. I believe I generally do accept traditional gendered roles due to the fact that I, myself have been taught that my whole life. I sometimes do expect others to behave in certain ways since I have always been told how to behave and what not to do. I in particular usually expect girls to know all the stuff I was taught and behave in the similar ways I was told to growing up.
In conclusion, gender role socialization is just a label for us boys and girls to follow in order to be accepted in society. The things we act on instinct growing up does not identify us. I believe it is perfectly fine for us boys and girls to step out of society’s expectancies of how each of our genders should behave. I also do believe in the fact that how we are told to behave growing up does affect our understanding of how we want to be seen. Overall gender role socialization is just a word and should not define
