The Importance Of Gadget

Decent Essays
Introduction:
The question asked was what is the most desirable or wanted gadget and the whole objective of this activity was to find out what people wanted that they also don’t have currently. So I carried out a questionnaire regarding the wants and the desires of the sample. My sample size was initially 6 but due to time restrictions I was only able to ask 4 people to fill out my questionnaire. The age range of the sample was 16-19 so I did expect most of the answers to be about a high-tech computer or a phone. Since the group sampled was male, I had to target male 16-19 year olds.
Reasons for why I asked such questions to my sample
I asked my questions based on what I would like to be asked when questioned about my most desirable gadget

1. Does it support daily life? E.g. My educational needs, does it give me the entertainment that I need. 2. Same as number 1. 3. Is it multi functional? 4. I want it to look good / cover daily life / work related
From this question, you can tell that everyone from this sample have similar ideas because the answers that were given were mainly to do with daily life, work and multitask features (covering work and daily life could be classed as multitasking) whereas the least popular answer was the looks of the gadget although this is a valid answer you look take more preference over the performance of the gadget as opposed to the looks of the gadget.

Does this gadget contribute towards your education? (If yes, then please explain what kind of role it will play in your education)
1. No, it is for entertainment. 2. Yes, it can accommodate educational needs through the use of apps 3. No, because I want to use it for gaming. 4. Yes, I can do every aspect of my course with this gadget
As you can see, the answers are divided between yes and no, mainly because every gadget that was listed (apart from the Segway) also has educational value as well as an entertainment value and therefore those gadgets could be used for both purposes, but the users have chosen to either multi-task or use the gadget for one purpose (in this case the user is going to use it for gaming)
Does this gadget meet all of your specific needs in terms of design specs and overall usage (please explain your answer)?
1. Somewhat (To a certain degree in terms of entertainment) 2. Yes, it does, I would prefer if it had a better camera. 3. Yes, because game PCs are some of the best PCs to build / buy. 4. Same as number

Millie is a homemaker, “an expert at lip reading from ten years of apprenticeship at Seashell ear thimbles,” who longs for a fourth wall-TV to be installed in her living room, despite the fact that she just got the third two months ago and that the devices cost fully one-third of her husband’s annual salary (Bradbury 18), 20). Her modern counterpart would be a woman who works from home, has a Bluetooth headset clipped to her ear at all times when she’s not sleeping, who spends all day in front of her laptop or tablet, most evenings in front of her 60” flat screen HD television, and who would rather die than go a day without her iPhone or Blackberry. Lest we judge Mille or Modern Millie too harshly, we must acknowledge that “most Americans, no matter what their age, spend at least eight and a half hours a day looking at a television, a computer monitor, or the screen of their mobile phone. Frequently, they use two or even all three of these devices simultaneously. (Carr 87)”…

The advent of video games started back in the 1950s, however, in 1958 Physicist William Higinbotham created what is thought to be the first video game. Rudimentary at best, the game was grandfather to the more familiar game from the 1970’s arcade game named Pong. In addition, the video game revolution first began to occur in 1977, with the introduction of the home gaming system, “Atari.” Other companies, including Sony, Nintendo and Sony would later mass produce home gaming systems and video games, which create an entire generation of video gamers. As technology has advanced the “only for playing” video game has reinvented itself.…

Every year when spring cleaning rolls around, I always rummage through my closet to organize the years worth of junk I’ve hoarded. In my closet sits my pink, bedazzled Motorola Razr that I treasured in middle school.
