On NPR’s Higher-ed Moneyball, goes on to share that helping students succeed is a great place to start. Professors are using their data base to work for them when it comes to students who are falling behind or need to be reminded that someone does car about their success. The network also shares with us that a student who passes their first 5-7 classes have a much better chance with graduating. This data program is allowing for professors to reach out and used as intervention will bring in better numbers and will also lower taxpayers risk. Our education may be good in some regards there is also a side that holds an achievement gap. The ones that are experience these gaps are minorities and low income families a new form of segregation which taps into our Civil Rights. Our president is spreading the funding to reform education when it comes to inequality so that way others have access to funding and opportunity. Perhaps applying reform to our education system will help strengthen the gaps. Some state courts have held the quality of education that children receive should be the same no matter where they live because in some areas students are showing three grade levels behind. The delay continues for these students that make it to college. The driving cause for the achievement gap are with the segregation and poverty. Reform is needed to make sure that every student has a fair opportunity with growth to our economy. But it doesn’t stop there the gap continues amongst the colleges with secondary education. Funding isn’t based on the need it is based on how many students enroll in their school and how much money they can collect off of their students as well. The funding process continues to widen the gap instead of improve our broken educational
