Friendship networks are tools for international student to deal with stress. International students indicate a stronger preference for making friends from the same country or student from other nations over student from the host country (Furnham & Alibhai, 2). International student prefer playing with student from the same country with them or have a same religion. When they come to America, they usually use social network to find the account of another students who study abroad. It’s really hard for international student’s life in America if they don’t have friend. If they have some friend from the same country as them, it’s much easier for them to live in a community. Becoming accepted into an affinity group that offers social support is much more difficult for international student if few student are from their country or global religion (George D. Kuh and Robert M. Carini, 2). As you know, friends are really important to everyone. Making friends depend on people’s characteristic. Sociable person can make friend very fast and opposite to person who are not sociable. With students who make less or have no friend, they feel lonely and isolated. Those reason and make student have depression and it may decrease their participation on every activities that they join. Different from American students who have same language with most of people in the community, international students should find some friends from their country to play with. In students’ mind, they try to get the highest scholarship that they can get. The majority of those students come here because this government has implemented kind of scholarship to send student (Mr. Mercado, 2). When the international students come to America to study, their first thing that they need to pay is course fee. Most of hard-working students’ achievement is getting high scholarship from the school that they try to apply. They are just student so they don’t have much money to pay for their fee. Furthermore, they also want to help their parent’s finances. The school will see students’ contribution and decide the scholarship. The first time, scholarship wasn’t give to any international student without any reason. With the contribution from old international students to the U.S., many new international students were given scholarship by the schools and the government. The money that the government use for scholarship is a high number. People made a number statistic about the money scholarship. This is very interesting number, the way the financial contribution of these student to the country $27 billions (Mr. Mercado, 3). Not only that, international students work a lot by their own, for example international service that helps students in getting scholarship. Specifically, they got $36,000 to the international student service.
