By understanding the power and influence that social media have in a college student life is vital for todays society. Social media has created a tremendous opportunity for college student to stay in contact with each other on a much easier level. However, some have been badly mistreated on it, so bad, that they never recuperate from it. The Internet and social media have become a platform for everybody to voice their opinion, and it is almost impossible not having any privacy without not being on social media. As briefly mentioned, this study conducted the differences between the US students and Scandinavian students most when it came to that 8.7 % was not on social media. Quantitative research helped this study to understand the differences of being on social media, however, to expand the research, it could also try to see if there were any gender differences when it came for the usage of social media. Additional qualitative research in terms of focus groups and interviews could also be used to enrich the research further. Lastly, related thesis research regarding in what way college students adopt social media is highly recommended. It is not only beneficial for new social media networking sites in order to get the users, however, it can be a crucial beneficial for college campus, students and even professors to learn how social media has become a crucial part of peoples lives, and also, try to see how different aspects of social networking sites could be beneficial in terms of brining the students closer
