What does come to one’s mind when they hear the word fire? In the oxford dictionary it is define as a process in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke; combustion or burning (Oxforddictionaries, 2015). Fire has been around us since the beginning of time, and mankind have discover how its use for it. In our daily life we cook most of the food that we eat, which involves fire in some sort of way. For me, I would say that fire is certainly our friend. In our world today we can hardly conceive of life without some fire. It has provides us warmth to our home and cooks our food in daily basis. Sometimes due to the uncontrollable fire spreading so fast, people have no time to react to it or run from it which then result to some deaths (Sanchez and Ellis, 2015). There were cases of the fast moving fire that traps people in the building that leads them to inhale soot and suffocate (Sobol, 2014). However, we should look at a bigger picture here, the bush fire are means by which nature destroys the old to allow the new to come (Nillumbik Shire Council, 2009). It may sound harsh but after the bush fire, almost immediately new grass, plants or vegetation will emerge from the burnt out blackened ground and in a short period of time the area will be green with flora again – until the next life (Nillumbik Shire Council, 2009). Did you know that the sun is the biggest fire in the solar system and it has keep us alive for more the millenniums of years. The sun powers gives energy to all life on earth and if the sun should die out, then all walks of life will be gone. For instance there are many harmful weapon that is made and based using the fire principle such as nuclear bombs and guns. As you can see, it is not the fire that is dangerous but how mankind use it as a destructive purpose which leads the harmfulness back to ourselves. Hence, we can definitely say that fire more to our friend than an enemy. Fire can only hurt us when we misuses it purpose and lose control of it which then it will appear as our biggest nightmare.
