(Which is hypocritical because both of my parents work blue-collar jobs; my father being a construction worker for a company called CalPortland and my mother being a night-time custodian). It is true to what they say that parents are one of the biggest influences on your life and life decisions. Yet, now growing up in my early years of being an adult and developing my own set of life skills, I must begin to start expanding my own ideas and beliefs to be open to new things, changes in politics, my own beliefs. Besides, with popular culture becoming furthermore developed with supporting feminism, it’s only logical to comprehend what is going on and happening in the movement. Feminism is a two-sided conversation with little in between answers of what’s right and what’s wrong nearly based on personal belief. Thus, I, a non-feminist, want to further myself into the history and culture of feminism, allowing an open mind to happen throughout my own investigation.
