“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen,” quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. This represents that it may seem to contradict the fact people must make their own decisions for it to become fate. In reality, people make choices first for something to be destined to happen because the universe will do it for the people who truly believe in it. Author, Ernest Cline, has presented both moments where it can be fate or it can be a choice. However, fate seems to weigh out the choices that are made. The process of getting there was not the easiest for him to do. For things to be destined, it will never be an easy process to go through. Throughout the virtual world, he met a couple of friends that he got close with. Helen Harris, as known as Aech, was his one of his best friends in the OASIS. They shared a lot in common with movies, music, and video games. Most of all, they bonded over finding Halliday’s Easter egg. Wade’s adventure on finding the egg was built on trust within the Hi-Five. The Hi-Five was the group of people who found the keys along with Wade. Aech, Art3mis, Daito, Shaito, and lastly himself were the members of the group. Cooperation was the key of this Easter egg hunt. Without his friends in Hi-Five, there wouldn’t be any possible way of figuring it all out. Additionally, in order to successfully finish his quest, he had to get pass the IOI. Both Wade and the IOI wanted their hands on the big fortune that Halliday had left behind for the lucky winner. In reality, the IOI could have tricked Wade and took the lead into finding the last keys. Nolan Sorrento, the leader of the IOI, had threatened Wade with blowing up his home if he didn’t give up where he can find the copper key. He did not believe that he would and ignored his blackmail. However later, there was a loud explosion in his trailer park. Wade never stopped looking for these keys even after these threats and problems he had experienced.
