The reality that everyone must work hard to achieve our aspirations and ambitions prove that neither exists at all. Moreover, each individual chooses the path they decide to take and it is ultimately up to that person. One’s choice should not be the scapegoat of destiny and fate, but instead the person should empathize that his or her actions have consequences and rewards, whether it is not failing to study for an exam or taking risks to get involved with their community and school. It is the individual’s responsibility how they take action, and one cannot cop out and hold destiny and fate accountable when it is their own doing. Destiny and fate do not influence our goals unless our destiny is premeditated and we are superstitious enough to believe in fate. I personally do not believe in the existence of fate as there is no greater force that controls the way our life will run its course. If fate existed, many decisions in our lives would lead unerringly to a positive outcome directly or indirectly. In my limited experience, neither has influenced my goals whatsoever. For example, in order to do well in school, a student must work diligently in order to gain the knowledge necessary for post-secondary school. That same student cannot be dependent on his destiny to get accepted into their ideal university or to achieve the career one wants. One who believes in destiny might consider everything is given to them on a silver platter simply because they believe in destiny. On the other hand, I do not accept destiny as the truth; I know from personal experience that I have to work hard to achieve what I want and cannot just be handed things in life. Although from time to time I am reluctant to admit that I indeed take these two into consideration before an epiphany arises in my mind. Then I realize that realistically our mind is a theatre, in which all our emotions play a role. There are no small roles in this theatre; each feeling will lead to another. But we are playwrights, and we choose to tamper with our script merely to influence the way we want our life to turn
