The Importance Of Family Challenges In Life

“Famil[ies] strengthen each other during storms. They help us be strong. After all, it is a family tradition. Our roots are deeper, our hearts are stronger. We never give up.” Lifting our families up during tough situations is one of the most important concepts in life. Once a loved one passes away, the whole family falls apart. Being there for family and helping them out even if it means taking sacrifices is a must. My entire childhood was spent with my grandpa, Bader, if anything, more time was spent with him than with my parents. Even though I was still young, I loved my grandpa so much. However, I always just wanted to play and have fun, forgetting that he wanted to spend time with me. In 2014, grandpa Bader had a really bad case of pneumonia. …show more content…
He cared more than my parents ever did. Getting older, less and less time was spent with him due to school and work. The day he passed, it was clear that life will never be the same again. My heart felt as if it were missing a piece. A feeling of guilt emerged for becoming distant from the person who showed love more than anyone else did, and that is the biggest mistake that has been made in life. Therefore, family should always be put over anything.

Being known as a person who panics when situations similar to this occur, having the quality of being calm helped get through the situation. However, it was different with grandpa’s passing. Shocked at first, everyone saw grandpa’s passing coming. It had been the most sorrowful event of life. February 13th was the day he passed away. It was best not to have any kids around him. Therefore, I had to stay at home and babysit sisters and cousins. Although, the only thing I wanted at that time was to be by his side and say goodbye for the last time. Hoping and praying that day would not be the day, to get another chance to see him, I was out of luck. It was 1:30 AM when they had returned from the hospital. Once the kids were put to sleep,

Everyone in the family was in need of some comfort, and I was the one to help. Seeing how heartbroken Mom was, my heart shattered into pieces. She needed love and affection.
Calmly talking to her and comforting her, she realized that everything happens for a reason. She also realized that he is not suffering anymore, and is sleeping with the angels. Hearing that, her facial expressions expressed that she started feeling better. She realized that he is no longer living in pain, but sleeping peacefully. The next day, uncle came over to check on Mom. Uncle never looked the way he did in his life. He looked as lifeless as a rose that has been sitting without water for a whole year. His legs dragged behind him as he walked, as if they were unable to carry him. Dreary, I run to him and hug him so tight. Him too, needed to be showered with love like a dead plant needed water. Comforting him to the best of my ability, his face brightened up and his body relaxed. The same thing was told to him as it was to Mom. With compassion and love, my family was able to be brought up when they were down.
Sometimes, being positive during a negative situation does not only help us, but also

I still hadn’t quite figured out that he was really gone. I waited at the door till I had to eat or use the bathroom, and then returned to sitting on the floor. Eventually it got to the point where everything began to sink in and by that time, I had already run out of tears to cry. Instead, I was angry; I was mad at my mom for letting him ride a motorcycle, at myself for letting him leave, at him for dying without me knowing it was going to be the last time I would see him alive, and at God for taking away the only person who knew all of my secrets. My older brother, younger sister and I were the only ones who really understood what was going on.…

My dad was recently hospitalized and is awaiting a form of open heart surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Only a few months earlier, after learning material in this course, I addressed important questions to my family relating to their personal preferences when in the face of death. My family has always held relatively private attitudes towards death. When my grandmother passed away, each member of my family went to our separate rooms and dealt with our own emotions separately and never addressed the death with support from each other. Looking back, all our attitudes have all drastically changed as a result of my dad’s health issues; our family is now very supportive of each other and we tackle emotional setbacks as a team.…

I went to hug my family because I wanted them to know I loved them a lot. My mom was still crying because she thought we had hit a car; a miscommunication on her part. I did not say anything about her crying because she was a scared mother, and she needed to just cry it out before she could feel better. When I was released from her hug, I watched as the kind man, whose house was near the wreck, and my dad come up with a plan to get the car out of the ditch and onto a car trailer. They both worked to get the hook somewhere on the car, so the winch could pull the car onto the trailer.…
