If an integrated laboratory service network organization were established this would provide “Integration of laboratory information with one-stop shopping access to an unequaled broad portfolio of laboratory tests combined with state-of-the art guidelines for clinical governance in laboratory testing constitute the value proposition to the health professionals and patients of an integrated health care delivery system” (Blanckaert, 2010).
