Macbeth becomes evil when the other people in his life coax him into doing the wrong actions. Macbeth has multiple encounters with different people in his life that influence his decisions. The witches tell him the prophecy, which initiates his plan and desire for power. Lady Macbeth further exploits him by making him feel like he isn’t manly enough. This creates a necessary feeling to prove his masculinity. When Macbeth decides to kill Macduff’s family, he’s gone down the rabbit hole of evil. Macbeth shows that with the right coaxing, Macbeth becomes evil, which means that people are easily influenced. Macbeth is first coaxed into becoming evil by the Weird Sisters and shows his first sign of a desire for power. The Weird Sisters are meeting together in a place that they know Macbeth will come through. Macbeth and Banquo walk in and are startled to see the Sisters when they start to say,
FIRST WITCH. All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis!
SECOND WITCH. All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor!
THIRD WITCH. All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! (1.3.51-53)

Banquo automatically realizes they are witches, and deep down believes they are evil. He understands that they are predicting. Macbeth is confused and is baffled that he would become king. He shows that he believes that him becoming Thane of Cawdor is unbelievable that becoming king is so inconceivable that it couldn’t happen. When Macbeth calls the Thane of Cawdor a prosperous gentleman, he must be envious that he is stuck winning battle while he has the luxury of resting and sipping wine. This is a turning point for Macbeth. Macbeth wants to know where they got this information so that he can confirm it. He wants to know why they stopped them to tell him and Banquo of this prophecy.
