Girls are confused as to how to fit all of these standards that “meet the eye” to society because that is all it is. If being fat was viewed as a more acceptable and an attractive weight in America, then women would be stuffing their faces full of carbs. However, our society is pushing the opposite. Thin is beauty. A flat stomach is beautiful. Being thin can mean several different things in America. We have the knowledge to be able to change our society to become healthier, however, Americans are indulging themselves in food knowing the possible outcome. Most of society has a negative reaction on this subject, whereas a positive or adaptive reaction would mean most of society would change the way they treat their bodies in a negative, unhealthy way.
