This statement in itself can be very deceiving. What one person perceives as being nice, another may not feel the same. One might look at law enforcement as “good people”. During the 9/11 disaster, first responders went above and beyond their normal daily activities to help others survive such a tragedy (Rosenstand 172). The media and social media, for the most part, portrays first responders, especially police officers, as heroes. The question I have though, does a police officer maintain the law with the citizens of a town, but abide by them at all times? I personally know police officers who don’t wear their seatbelt, text while they drive, and even drive after having drank alcohol. All of those actions are against the law, the law which they are to uphold, yet they do the same as individuals. It seems as though it’s a double standard. You could also relate a good person as being your role model, somehow someone you look up to is teaching you a moral lesson. I personally look up to my father as my role model and personal hero. Throughout my life I have seen his brawls with work, marriage, money, and family, yet I’ve also seen him overcome all of his struggles and stand with pride.
