The goal of this paper is to show how a consumer makes decisions to purchase products, how they may be vulnerable with their decision making and how ethics of marketing to the vulnerable be considered in allowing advertisement. This will also clearly reflect the issues in marketing the persist in in our society today and that is seen in the data showing social and economic inequality, stereotyping being perpetuated in the media and incident in profiling.

But it is difficult for a society to protect everyone but in today 's world, where you get bombarded by advertising to convince you that this is what you need, then there is a responsibility to the advertiser to be honest. But there is an old adage that says that the Buyer Beware. That there is a responsibility for the buyer to be cautious. You can’t limit advertising to protect everyone. There would not be any advertising. This is a risky business that everyone deals with daily. The graph below will identify the specifics of company spending. This chart identify the major coporation and the amounts spent on sales and marketing in orange. While the amounts spent on research and development are in blue. Most of this marketing money is directed at the physicians who do the prescribing, rather than consumers. As Oliver pointed out, drug companies spent more than $3 billion a year marketing to consumers in the U.S. in 2012, but an estimated $24 billion marketing directly to health care professionals (Swanson, 2016, para. 1-5). This research has revealed a massive group of companies in the world that is using the cutting edge marketing campaign scheme to gain grounds over their competitors and to advertisements to boost their sales and revenue. This whole campaign is unethical and unjust to the consumer and American citizens should never play a part in this sort of activity. There are several ways advertising campaign be changed going forward to alleviate some of your concerns. First, companies can take a programmatic approach. A programmatic approach is coming up with a system, initiating and identifying, then developing a plan, next take control and last execute.
