Sustainability considers how we will safeguard the environment around us, and preserving it and making sure that our community protects it from destruction. It is the responsibility of an organization to produce renewable, biodegradable, recycled and non-polluted products to better our environment. If companies produce products that will not harm the environment they are moving in the right direction in safeguarding nature. The two companies that I be discussing in this research is Delta Air Line Inc and Boeing Co. I will inform one the environment sustainable operations of the company, the mineral usages of Delta, and what could other companies learned from them.

According to the article "Runway Paved with Good Intentions” it stated, Delta Air Line started a program that helps the “Conservation Funds” plant more trees. The airline would let customers pay a donation of $5 or more to the environmental project. They figured out that passengers are will to contribute extra money if the money was going towards improving the environment. Another environmental sustainable operation was presented in the article….. , which stated that Delta have a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Throughout this partnership the company raised donations from customers and employees from being in different activities, such as the sale of beverages and food on a pink plane. Recently, the company and their consumers have raised more than $1 million annually.
Companies should be aware that whatever they do could have a negative or positive effect on the environment. According to the article “Environmental Sustainability” it stated, throughout the years the company Delta Air Line Inc have been lowering their mineral usage, waste management, water issues, and emission control. Throughout the years Delta Airline Inc water usage decreased from 225 million in 2012 to 209 million in 2014, it decreased by 3 percent. Although water usage is not a major function of the business. They still seek to lower water usage and believe in global water conversation in different locations where they have facilities. They were able to reduce the water usages by keeping watch over how much water their employees and consumers used.
