In the course of the last week, Emina has been adapting to the new rhythm of the winter semester, allowing her to recognize a bothersome flaw in her routine. Emina has a lengthy commute to school. She lives approximately thirty minutes away. However, during morning traffic, she experiences an hour-long drive. Emina’s winter schedule has allowed her to relax on Tuesdays and Thursdays, an attribute that she enjoys about her schedule. On days she has classes, Emina wakes up at 8:30 and gets ready to leave by 9:20 am. Rather than take highways, she prefers to drive on Hall road for the majority of her commute. Everyday before catching her first class, Philosophy, Emina purchases a caffeinated beverage on her way to school. It serves as an energy booster as she starts her day. Emina’s philosophy class is in Pawly hall and her following class, Writing 160, is located in South Foundation Hall. To take into account the lay out of the University of Oakland, her writing and philosophy classes could not be any farther apart. Given that the winter season will be evident …show more content…
However, she is bothered that her morning classes are distantly located from each other. Considering the flaw in Emina’s itinerary, facing long-distance walking in below freezing temperatures. I recommended that she dresses warm and wear a winter coat, gloves, hat and a scarf. I also suggested that she wear durable shoes for the snow. Impervious shoes can prevent her feet from becoming wet and keep her from slipping on ice ridden walking paths. Emina should aim to tweak her walking path and cut through buildings to reduce the time she spends outside. This solution should help her keep warm throughout the winter semester as she walks across

For some students getting to classes between the magical ten-minute break is equivalent to an obstacle course. “Some days, between the high school students and the steady stream of texters, who fail to look up from their phones or walk at a New York pace, I barely make it to class on time, “says Carolina Guarrella, a student here at Brooklyn College. For Guarrella navigating this obstacle almost proved deadly when she almost got run over by a bus while crossing Bedford Avenue to get to the other side of campus. “I was rushing to class,” she said I was nervous I would be a bit late, so I was not being as attentive as I should have been.” On this particular day, her heeled boots didn’t help matters as she rapidly made her way from James Hall…

Before acquiring a certain raven haired detective, the downtown GCPD was a busy little place, the kind of place that low end criminals sat in tiny cells and await with one another without having to deal with the nuts at Arkham. The weekend meant that cops officially had their hands full, and even if downtown GCPD was obscure and unknown, the swell of low end criminals brought to GCPD was enough to keep it running. The cells were small and old, and other than a decent view of the water, that was pretty much all it had going for it. The downtown GCPD was always dealing with something from the petty drunks to the common thieves.…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

Going through the sophomore hallway wasn’t really my preference at all, but I needed to avoid Sarah who was already trying to follow me. Knowing the most common place I would be in was near the vending machines by the lockers, I took a different direction to get past her. The next class I had was English Literature. Daniel and the others were on the other side of the school building so I wouldn’t be seeing any of them if I had decided to pass through the lower class hallways. I didn’t really know what else to be looking forward to the rest of the day, as it was coming to an end with two classes left.…
