Electrical and Computer Engineering has developed tremendously over the hundredth year. As the world continues to grow smarter from new inventions and expansions, the possibility of further refining the engineering curriculum was brought up. It is vital to take into consideration efficiency, effectiveness, and resourcefulness when it comes to learning, as well as teaching. Ambitious engineers will need to acquire key ideas, including social, cultural, and specialized concepts in order to be successful in their future career. The traditional lectures, worked-out examples, and assigned homework material were prominent. However, improvements were suggested and meant to give students a chance to become more involved with their field of interest. Lectures should not only be taught, but rather include an aspect of active learning that grabs a student’s attention. Labs should not be a weekly routine, but rather a chance to apply the experiment to real-world situations. Computer engineering plays a very important role in the world of technology, thus it is important that students are given a theme that can be applied to the outside world, allowing for problem-based learning and application. Group efforts among students became highlighted as it was certain that students would have to cooperate with their peers and to become leaders in their own space. PBL (Problem-based learning) has become pertinent and involves learning inside and outside of the classroom, cooperating with fellow peers, receiving advice or polite criticism, being able to acquire knowledge in various forms of learning, and inspiring students to further investigate a solution. Computer engineering courses should teach students numerous programming skills as well as logical thinking in the digital mindset. Concepts such as working with hardware, software encoding, and computing code are some of the topics that a computer engineering student will be exposed to and expected to become familiar

Technology is changing the way that the students learn and how they interact with others in the classroom and the world. The world’s economy is changing so it is very important for the students to morph into a new way of using technology and shift in theory according to the Common Core curriculum, “It is part of the paradigm shift to an inquiry style of learning and to engaging students in learning in ways that help them make sense of knowledge” (Debraski 35). The importance of technology has been making its way to the nation’s schools to learn more about the digital age. Technology allows the students not to rely on the teacher to give the answer to questions but it to allow the student to learn their own answer to the question. This new learning style is affected because the students are now searching for the answer instead of relying on the teacher who was the specialist in content by learning, being able to find relevant information, and to make sure the information is validated.…

Technology in the Classroom: Making Strides with Technology In favor of the use of technology in the classroom, several matters are poignant. For students who are already familiar with technology, the use of this type of educational device is a logical extension of their daily processes. Technology opens doors for students by allowing them to access data and receive answers to practically any question that may arise. It also has the opportunity to cater to a wide array of learning styles such as reading, hearing, and interactive lessons for a more personal learning experience. Technology also provides scope for students to engage in a more diverse educational setting by interacting with students from different cultures from their own when reviewing the same or similar content or concepts.…

It affects how we connect, play, socialize and, most importantly, learn. The “real world” is becoming increasingly technology-dependent; therefore being technologically literate is essential to becoming a successful, contributing member of society. It only makes sense to integrate technology into the classroom to give students the opportunity to gain a wide variety of knowledge and skills necessary to flourish in school and in life. Exposing students to the range of technology available – both basic uses like showing videos or having them conduct research online and more creative ones, like having them produce their own newscasts, films, or songs or setting up a pen pal exchange with a sister class across the country or the globe – gives them the chance to explore new approaches to learning and also potential career paths for the future. In this way, it is an excellent tool to diversify teaching, allowing teachers to address multiple learning styles and present information in a variety of formats.…

According to Tweed, A, in “ Designing Effective Science Instruction”, Science teachers should be more effective when planning and implementing science content by focusing on some important strategies in order to provide students with meaningful opportunities and refine their science understandings in authentic contexts. One of these important strategies is an engaging student in scientific inquiry. Many science educators think that inquiry-based instruction leads to better science understandings and practices of concepts and develop the logic, thinking, and skills. As a result, they should use instructional techniques to engage students in science inquiry by asking questions that can be classified in many ways such as what, where, how, and…

Many school are trying to look at the positives of using technology in the classrooms more so than any of the negatives. Lessons taught through digital resources can be tailored to match different learning styles as well as using a style referred to as blended learning which “combines traditional teacher-to-student lessons with technology based instructions” (Harold, 2016). Blended learning is a way to start integrating technology into classrooms. Teachers can learn as they go and combine technology with their lesson plans.
