They will need to explain how the new process will clearly tie more directly to an individual’s performance utilizing quantifiable measurements leading to a more fair assessment by managers. Reinforce that an individual’s performance rating will be utilized in deciding on how much of a salary increase they will receive. Training on how to write quality driven goals will take place either by human resources or the manager. Goals will be driven down from the top company strategies and SMART goal framework will be used to write the goals. Coaching will occur by managers throughout the year, including assisting team members develop new skills for current or future roles, helping to eliminate road blocks to achieving goals, and encouraging continuous growth and improvement.
