Personal Narrative-A Night At A Restaurant In Long Beach

The very first time I ate an oyster, was definitely an experience to remember! It all started with a night out on the town with my family. My Dad made the decision to take us out to dinner as a small family outing. Normally, on Friday nights we’re all at home bored out of our minds. So when, my Day suggested going out to eat instead of the usual pizza, we jumped at the opportunity! We went to a restaurant in the downtown district of Long Beach, Ca. The restaurant, being known for its great seafood and a dining experience was at the top of his list. Once we arrived, we were immediately seated. The waitress began passing out the menus and proceeded to ask us, “What we would each like to drink". I simply replied a Shirley temple please! My sister then, asked for glass milk and we all thought it was weird. Because who drinks milk with seafood? Looking over the menu I glanced at the appetizers section I notice the choices that were available, Oysters were one of them, …show more content…
Actually eating an oyster wasn’t the horrible part, it was what I believed it would taste like because of its look. Sometimes judging a book by its cover can have you missed out on the unknown. It took a bet and a little bit of courage to try something out which I thought to be gross. It’s quite funny looking back now. I didn’t think trying something new would lead to an experience that I never thought possible. Had someone told me I would have eaten an oyster, I could assure them it wouldn’t happen! After it was all said, I now try new things. Even though, it was my last time eating an oyster. I have been a little more daring with trying out new foods. So far, I tried alligator, octopus and the latest cow tongue. All of which, have been first and last times trying. Nothing new has stuck, but at least I can say I’ve had them. Besides, how else would you know what you like if you’ve never tried

I would visit Applebee’s again for several reasons; it is affordable, causal, and the food is really good. As a college student, the first thing that I consider before eating out is how affordable the place is. Compared to Olive Garden, I would say that this restaurant is a lot less formal, less costly, and a lower food quality. Overall, my experience was fun and enjoying because I felt relaxed sitting, laughing, and eating with my friends. When come back next time, I may try a dessert.…
