Early Childhood mathematics is the foundation of the rest of the child’s life. It is the basics of the child’s future classes in algebra, geometry, and calculus. Mathematics is a subject that can be taught outside the classroom, inside the classroom, out of the child’s desk, or inside the desk. The reasons of the importance and the many ways to teach mathematics can only be answered through the following questions: How should Early Childhood mathematics be taught, how should you engage Early Childhood learners in mathematics, and how should you prepare for instructional strategies/diversity in a mathematics classroom?
Teaching mathematics could be best explained by recommendation number one and two, which can be found in Teaching Math to Young Children.

Review is most important to a child, so their brain can get a refresher. In the time of technology getting students to be engaged in class could be difficult without the presence of an IPad. The great thing about the technology age is using the technology for teaching. For the children who love technology, which should be all, there are amazing apps, websites, and other helpful tools for the students to be engaged and learn math at the same time. Growing up, there was a particular enjoyment with mathematics. Throughout the school year, there was not two days that were the same when in math class. In Teaching Math to Young Children, recommendation number five said “dedicate time each day to teaching math, and integrate math instruction throughout the school day.” With this type of teaching, then math could never be boring and more importantly you do not need IPads in their hands to teach this way. Another funny thing about this recommendation is the children will not know that math is being taught to them. A student could hate math, but when it is shown to them in the outside world than it becomes real and they will enjoy it more. Even many
