An informative step toward understanding what it takes for an EIL student to become successful is the connection that the teacher and learner should have. This connection is the positive interaction between teacher and student. It is this connection that will benefit both the student and the teacher. Unquestionably, teacher and student should be able to do their part to have this connection and to improve. Therefore, EIL students will have a positive attitude toward learning English depending on the connection with their teachers. There are difficulties that the learners face in class, however, they can have a positive attitude rather than a negative one because of the connection they have with the teacher. Rita said that presenting in class is one of the activities that helps her to learn more. She loves her teacher because most of the things that the students do in class are fun and interesting and it helps them to learn more. She loves her teacher because she is simple, smart, and self-explanatory. Her teacher is a bookworm and Rita admires how simply she expresses herself to her students. Rita said that she loves going to class because they all work together. She said that “because class is early in the morning it is a little challenging to pay attention when we are still sleepy”. Even though that is a challenge she loves her class and she does sense improvement in her writing skills because of class.
