The collaboration of banishing punishments was soon forgotten, creating an uproar and a loss of admiration of Napoleon. In the novel, the new commandment reveals, “It ran: “No animal shall kill any other animal WITHOUT CAUSE’” (Orwell 91). The original commandment stated how no animal shall kill another animal, establishing equality amongst all animals. In order for Napoleon to bypass the rule and murder those who would disobey his rule, he added two extra words into the commandment. Thus, causing the animals to believe Napoleon and allow the injustices. This was yet again another reason for the downfall of the dystopia.
