The Importance Of Dynamic Character In 'Charles'

Decent Essays
The fact that Charles’ mother coddles him as a child has a negative effect on him in his adult life. This treatment can cause Charles to become a static character or a dynamic character. Assuming Charles takes his mother’s coddling into his adult life, he will never mature because he has everything given to him. Therefore, he will always be like a child in the novel, which makes him a static character. However, if Charles develops past his mother’s treatment, then he will be dynamic because he will take his own path and begin making decisions for himself. Since Charles is so used to having everything handed to him as well as having every aspect of his life planned to basically the exact minute, he will not be able to take care of himself later
