According to the dictionary, advertising, the act or practice of calling public attention to one’s product, service, need, etc., Advertising is used in newspapers and magazines, over radio and television and on computers. Technology is such a good way to get people's attention because everyone is on social media. The goal in advertising is to draw people’s attention toward what is being advertised, and to get others to buy or donate. The purpose in advertising is to draw emotions from people and to make others realize what is going on. The ad by Julian Crowley, published on September 17, 2011, appeals to others emotions. That is why for parents it is important to strive to be the best parent they can be. Proverbs 22:6 states, “start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” This verse is a great verse for parents to live for. This verse tells parents to start a child out at a young age in the right direction. The direction that leads to God. When parents do this, the verse says that when the children are older they will not turn from the right direction. Stats show that around 8.3 million kids live with a parent who abuses alcohol or other drugs, according to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services. According to Dr. Glen Hanson, 40-60% of kids who grew up around drugs and alcohol, develop the same addiction. This is sad that these kids are having to go through these hard home lives. There is no telling what they might have to do to please their parents. These kids are shown no love or attention from their parents and feel like that are not enough. What are others going to do about this situation? 8.3 million kids are being raised in drug homes. Surely there is something for others to do or help with. But what? These parents are too selfish to actually give their kids up because as sad as this is to say, they may be getting a check off of them every month. She can either regret what she did and really try to get her life straight or she can be glad that she does not have to deal with her kids anymore. The relationship between the mother and the daughters is now gone. The daughters will not see their mom or each other for a while. Now when the mom gets out of jail hopefully she will be straightened out and maybe the girls will give her a second chance but they may not. The purpose of this ad was to make others aware of what kids are going though. Not all kids are raised with good parents who love and treat them goof. This ad helps parents realize how they are treating their kids and make them aware that the kids are watching them. Parents need to strive to be the best influences they can be. It is never too late to change but why not just start out not doing bad things that way choices to do good will come
