Costs like these should be avoided and things should be done to stop droughts or at least help ease into them. The fact that a drought also caused so many people to lose their jobs also impacts the economy and the state itself. Although the New Jersey drought faced at the moment is not there, it is always better to prevent rather than let things get close to how California was. The easier spread of diseases also influences Public Health to notice droughts and work towards preparing or responding to droughts. Droughts change the amount and pattern of certain diseases which makes it easy for certain diseases to spread at those moments. The best plan of action would be for preparation to occur and learning in the communities that will be affected by droughts.
