Growing up in South Florida was a great experience for me. I coin the experience as the “best diversity teacher I’ve ever had”. That experience of growing up with those of diverse backgrounds and cultures was an invaluable experience in my growth and development as a person. I have always had a natural interest in diversity led interests and academic endeavors. As a recent graduate of the Higher Education program here at The University of Toledo, I enjoyed the courses on Diversity Beginnings and Diversity in Practice. Learning about dimensions of diversity along with gaining a theoretical knowledge on the topic has contributed to my growth professionally and personally.
