I think the coverage was fair. I watched coverage on developed and developing stories. I think that the coverage was as fair as it could have been. Some stories did not have that much information. Others were not allowed to release information because the investigation was still open. Reporters are only allowed to know so much information, especially if they crime is recent.
I felt lie racial minorities and whites were treated the same. I watched stories where the victims were African American and White, no race was treated differently than the other. I also noticed that when interviewing a witness, the respect was there for both. Both races got a fair amount of time to say what they witnessed and how it affected them. Race was not even mentioned during the interviews. Even when identifying a subject.

It stated, “We don 't have the right conversations.” This is true. We know shootings happen in Milwaukee. All ages are affected and it is horrible. I heard a witness tonight speak about how horrible the shootings have been and that we need to help stop them. The news channels brush that off, but that is what the story should be about!
Danielle Christenson stated in her article, “Few crimes are considered as newsworthy as mass murder. This is because it is shocking, infrequently occurring, and involves multiple victims.” While mass murder is a whole other issue that is important. The shootings in Milwaukee are just as important. In a way, it is a mass shooting. You hear of people dying all the time due to gang violence in all cities. It is a problem just as serious. I think if the news stations portrayed this inner city shooting issues the way the portrayed the mass shooting, people would care
