Events such as Repack the Bronx, where I packed meats and various foods for families in need. Including, participation in Baby Buggy in which I packed baby clothes for mothers in need who could not afford clothes for their children. One charitable moment that will always remain memorable was my service work in Colombia. Last summer, I was afforded the opportunity to travel to South America in region of Colombia, Cartagena through my program called StreetSquash. The main agenda for traveling to Colombia was to give back to children who were less fortunate than others. I was able to teach students English, repaint the outside of a classroom, and even got on their squash court to teach them new squash strategies. While teaching the children, they were able to inform me about their culture and upbringing. I learned that Colombians are taught at a very young age of their racial identity as being Black. They described being Black as magnificent, and also embrace the culture that it came within their identity. I would like to continue to give back to communities that lack resources, and gain more knowledge from each experience. As teaching individuals, I found out that you are also educating yourself in a way which makes a person more
