When being that type of athlete staying hydrated and eating well is a must. In their guidelines it states that “Eat small meals every two to three hours, meals should include protein and complex carbohydrates, stay hydrated with at least 8 ounces of water per hour …, and eat post-workout meal within 30 minutes and NEVER SKIP MEALS”. The never skip meals part is stressed because it is essential on keeping your energy up. The meal plan is broken down into 5 sets; pre workout meals, pre workout snacks, post workout meals, post workout snacks and it ends with an evening snack if you’re still hungry. Most athletes eat the same as a normal everyday person, but the difference is that they are active. The track and field athlete’s meats consist of ground beef, lean ham, lean ground turkey, boneless chicken breasts, turkey breasts, roast beef and tuna in water. Breads, pasta, cereals and rice is preferred to be of whole grain descent. While the beans and nuts could be baked, chopped walnuts, pinto and even unsalted roasted peanuts. The workouts could be done at home, in the neighborhood and even could go to a track. Home workouts could be done by using a treadmill, running up and down the stairs being active is the goal. Also, calisthenics could be done pushups and sit-ups working on the muscle part. In the neighborhood going for a run around the blocks and stuff like that could be done. If it is ever decided to go to a track running up and down the bleachers and even running around the track a few times is a good workout. No pain no gain is the motto of this athletic diet because pain is weakness leaving the body. The ending result of this never ending lifestyle will leave a very satisfying sense of accomplishment. Having both a very well balanced source of eating with being active produces better results than just eating healthy. Most people like you try a diet and fail because you think eating right is a solution; however, if you try a diet that involves working out it will guarantee results. A great performance equals a great
