DBMS or database management systems is a number of programs that work with the data inside the database to create a relationship between the business and the valuable information collected. To fully understand database management systems you first need to understand the basic components of those systems. DBMS rely on two basic structures, big data and databases. In the attempt to cure disease, improving the lives of many, and trying to predict which disease can cause an epidemic, big data is a necessary component in changing the medical world as we see it. Collecting the information from patients has changed from simple surveys to the new tech savvy wearable technologies that are gaining popularity. Things like Fitbit and other programs that are meant to keep track of your overall health, assists not only the person wearing it stay healthy but also keeps a good track of the current health status of a group of people and even a population. Companies can collect that information and use it in studies to improve life in general. This is a complicated issue since many people fail to accept or understand that to make such changes companies need to collect information or even start clinical trials. Many years ago animal testing was a method that was extremely popular in testing how products will affect the human race. Now, due to companies like PETA and various other animal activist groups, scientists and other health related companies are finding it harder and harder to put certain medicines or vaccines to the test.
