The poet creates a picture of everyday human life by describing a picture of dance. Poetry along with the different art forms mold itself and can create a sense of connection and belonging for its audience.
Societal divisions whether visible or not exist within every society, and these class barriers influence the way we analyze life and the different episodes that occur within our lives. It also influences the way we connect to people as well as society itself. However, Williams removes the idea of class barriers from the minds of his readers in “the dance” and instead shows them how a peasant’s life can be similar to theirs. The poem shows how everyone has trouble within the circle of life however, when there is hope and the desire to enjoy, things seem a lot easier. Our life follows a cyclic pattern which has moments of happiness and sadness. How we let them drive us is up to us.
