The better we have an understanding of why the phenomena of illegal border crossing is happening, the better we can prepare legislation and equip police to deal with the situation. In turn, we can better protect the border. The independent variables are the variables that you manage and the dependent variables are the ones that are influenced by the independent variables (“Variables”, 2006). The independent variables in my research are legislation, punishment and physical actions to create better border protection and control illegal immigration from Mexico. Adapting physical barriers and action will help as well. The United States, as a whole, will be safer if these variables are changed. Certain gang activities and drug activity can be reduced if congress can develop legislation that stiffens consequences. Another way to prevent this phenomena is to divert resources to helping Mexico’s economy. The United States will always have a problem with illegal aliens attempting to come into the country as long as the US economy is better and more structured. Money is everything in this world. If relations with Mexico are strengthened and some US resources are diverted to helping improve the Mexican economy, then less people would be willing to take chances to come into the …show more content…
The answer is still unclear. However, the trends show only some of the measures are working. Through continual research and observation the measures will be amended to hopefully accomplish the mission as a whole.
