Even though it may not sound like it, critical thinking is a very complex thing to grasp. Despite its complexity, it is very important to understand it. Not only that, but it is also important to have the ability to do it. Thanks to critical thinking, people have the ability to form enough questions in attempt to learn more about a certain topic. Critical thinking is what allows us to dig deeper and deeper into things we still do not fully understand. Critical thinking is needed for many different reasons. With it, we do not just question what happened, we question what was the reason for it happening. Along with that, it also lets us ask why it happened the way it did. Question one has the backing of all the groups that were affected by European colonization. One the biggest stories would involve Christopher Columbus, the man that gets the credit of discovering America. That discussion could turn into another that is about how he actually did not discover it since people were already there. Question two has just as many background stories as question one. Despite there being people that deny racism still existing, many different things have happened to help prove it does. In a discussion, someone could bring up topics of how many people still fly the Confederate flag, and why the KKK still exists. Others could talk about how they believe police brutality of colored people is on the rise. Critical thinking is something that we may or may not do every day without even realizing it. By using it, it allows us to question the question itself. It can help us understand people and the world itself better. Once thinking critically is mastered, then a person is able to continuously learn and share more and more.
