Flint is the second on the list for highest crime rates in Michigan. “Crime rates per 50,000 people: violent crime 738.6404, murder/non-negligent manslaughter 23.93, and property crime 1,801.04” (Devereaux). For having just under 100,000 people in the city it has five times less people than Detroit and slides in as number 2 in Michigan still. Due to the high rates of crime I encourage you to think twice about visiting this city. Jackson is one of the highest crime rated cities in Michigan with a prison in their own city.
