The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) (2009) reported that a counselor educator and supervisor act in roles that range from being a teacher, consultant, mentor and counselor. As a current counselor, I’ve heard that being a professor is a stressful role. Brems, Bladwin, Davis, and Namyniuk (1994) reported that the teacher role is a critical role and presents persistent stress. Brems et al., (1994) also reported that student-practitioners have a lack of interest in being a professor within the academic career. One thing that I fear is that I wrote be prepared to produce an efficient syllabus and curriculum that will assist with the development of skills. Another challenge that could present themselves within the teacher role is having to confront a student with a development plan. While I want to assist in developing efficient skills, I also think it is important to ensure the student understands the material and practices in an ethical manner. I have not had the opportunity to address inadequate skills of a supervisee in my role as a supervisor, so having to address this issue within a teacher role could be very challenging for
