In my home, I am known as the IT department. Whenever anyone in my family needs technical support, they come ask me. My family first noticed my knack for computer skills when we got our first family computer. I would always be playing around with settings and games. One day when the display starting giving artifacts, I knew what the problem was: the computer needed a new graphics card. From that day forward I have been solving problems, building computers, and doing so much more. The simplest issues I fix occur on a bi-weekly basis and usually include fixing the printer, restarting the router, or force quitting an application. However, fixing the printer is not

This job started when I built my first computer. To build a computer, I first had to understand what all goes into a computer and what is most important for each computer task. For example, if you are running a headless server, like I was, a graphics card is not too important, or even necessary. A few years after I built my server, I decided I wanted to build my own personal computer. During a free day in Spanish II, we had a substitute, I started browsing online computer hardware stores and forums. I created not one, two, or three, but nine different configurations over the next 5 months before I had determined which one I wanted the most and was the best for my money. Using this process, I have built a total of five systems: a server and a personal computer for myself, a friend, my brother, and another good friend. I have not asked for anything in return from my brother or friends because I enjoy this process so much; that by them having me design and build a computer for them, it is a favor from them to
