During the class, we learned how to take advantage of the endless university sources, which at the end saved time and effort. After all, I feel more prepared, confident and less stressed about running a research; the most important aspect of this objective is that it focuses on avoiding plagiarism, teaching us how to cite correctly to cover up ourselves. After learning how to find credible sources through the university library, it is not necessary to pay too much attention to evaluating them which might be a waste of time. Although is important to make the point that it is important to know how to evaluate the sources overall, so the student could know which one to take as valid when they do not have access to the university sources, for example.
The class assignments correspond to the course objectives because the student needs to master the learning outcomes in order to efficiently fulfill the task requirements. For example, in order to find adequate sources for the research paper, the student had to previously read, analyze and critic the writings to find a useful information. I read all the chapters assigned and this help me to understand the classes. In some cases, it was a refresh of a material acquired in previous classes, in other cases it opened the door for a whole new concept. For example, I did not have a clue of what a Rogerian essay was, and I mastered it pretty well after we covered the material. With this in mind, I conclude that the book appropriately contributes to the knowledge of the subject because is easy to understand, the vocabulary that it uses is adequate to the college

During this semester of English W131, I have experienced both accomplishments and setbacks while learning how to improve my writing skills. Throughout the course, I have learned that writing is not only about how much information is in the paper, but also about how well the writer’s thoughts are expressed throughout the text. Practicing many different styles of writing as I did in the class has helped me tremendously with my delivery in my writing. I believe that this course was one to prepare us for future writing courses with professors we will encounter who will give us feedback that may puzzle us because it will require more work and more thinking. Although I have had difficulty in the class, I do believe that I have learned from my mistakes and that I am finishing the course with stronger writing skills that will help me though the rest of my college career and life.…

Ms. Friedman argues that vampires are good and help students think intellectually especially in challenging times. However, Ms. Friedman ignores the 2006 Spellings Report that was given and the information at the 2012 (CWAP) conference that students are deterred by the cost of education, see it as a waste of time, and are not proficient even after they graduate. For these reasons, I am against the use of vampires in first-year English Composition.…
