I hereby write in response to the notice of academic dishonesty leveled against me by Dr. Nicholas Forge, my professor of "Foundations of Community Partnerships.” Before proceeding, I will like to provide you with background information of my academic sojourn at Georgia State University. I attended Georgia State for my undergraduate studies in Social work between 2014 and 2016, and I graduated with honors, cum laude and I will like to point out the through my undergraduate studies, I was never involved in any academic related infraction or violated the Georgia State University Code of Conduct and Administrative Policies. Since my graduation, I have been a worthy ambassador of this exalted citadel of learning that I am very proud of, and …show more content…
Specifically, he was referring to part IV of the rubric, the history of Covington. While I actually made a significant effort to conduct independent research on the historical development of Covington by talking to the locals of various races, I was surprised that they were not forthcoming and the information germane to my research. As a matter of fact, I found that they were more interested in talking about the racial tension, police brutality and crimes. This I made it known to Dr. Forge when he inquired about the materials I gathered for my …show more content…
Dr. Forge said I self -plagiarist on part IX of the rubric and I explained to him that I wrote the words which I have become acquainted with being a Social worker, I did not understand that I was repeating myself because it was written from a place of passion and love for the profession. Also, I further informed Dr. Forge that I visit the writing studio three times a week, and every session lasts for an hour. Before I submit any essay or paper, I take it to the writing studio for a second opinion.
Please permit me to reiterate the fact that I really love being a Social worker, and that was why I am furthering my education at my alma mater, Georgia State University. Coming from Africa and being the first to attend college in my family means a lot to me and I will not do anything knowingly and intentionally to Jeopardize this worthy opportunity. It is a privilege an honor to be accepted into the MSW program at Georgia State

The difference between Plagiarism and Self- Plagiarism is that Plagiarism is a form of academic dishonesty when used someone’s ideas, words or images as one’s own without properly crediting the person or citing the source of information. On the other hand, Self-plagiarism is a form of academic dishonesty by which a student uses an old assignment or part of previous assignment and submits it as new work without citing the original work. I believe self-plagiarism is a violation of academic integrity. As a student, we are encouraged to make our writing unique, original and creative.…

Well done Anees, I have seen an improvement in your writing style from marking your first assignment, this demonstrates your commitment and ability to recognise and act on your own learning needs to further develop your knowledge and skills for social work. This portfolio demonstrates you are now beginning to make links between theory and practice, having an awareness and an understanding of social work theories and how they can be applied in practice. This is particularly evident within your SWLC and communication assignments, where you demonstrated your knowledge of theories of communication and attachment and applied them to case examples from your practice. I can see you are developing your awareness of legislation and social policy related…

I would first like to thank Frostburg State University for accepting me in their institution and giving me the chance to further my education after my high school scholar years. I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career. As a small university, Frostburg has enabled me to benefit from many things, such as the small size classes. Now that I have gotten used to college and life on campus, I believe it is time to continue to push myself to work harder and to attend an institution where I could be academically challenged and can be surrounded by many people who share my profession.…

I believe from reading the college paper case study, and the University of the People’s Academic integrity and Code of Conduct Statements; that plagiarism is a very serious offense. Even if you did not purposely write another persons research in to your paper with out proper citation. In the college paper case study, both Reggie and Arnie, both decided to try and cheat the system by going online and finding an essay so they wouldn’t actually have to put in the time and work to make their own essays for their class homework. By cheating and copying another persons work off the internet, they plagiarized that persons work. They did not even put in the effort to do proper citation of that other persons work in their essays.…

Lying and deception is one of the most common sins that we see in law enforcement according to our ethic book. This is one of the sins that can easily be made, and most would see as not a very big sin depending on what an officer is lying about. A person of the law should never lie but some examples can be when a civilian reports an officer doing something they shouldn’t of done like speeding or turning their lights on to get through a light just so they don’t have to wait. Now when this gets reported an officer could easily lie and say he or she didn’t do this because there is most likely no evidence of this being done and it’s the officers word against the civilians. Now that is just a simple example of how an officer could lie to a leader or their department.…
