Essay About Miscommunication

Has someone ever had one of those stories or information that gets told and retold? For instance when someone is playing telephone, and by the time the story gets to the last person, the story has changed from what the actual story was. People often do this when we try to communicate with other people, through miscommunication, lack of communication, and peoples own interpretations. When this happens the message is often a negative experience that people can prevent from happening; if this does happen though, there is most of the time a lesson that we can actually learn for the situation.
I have had this happen to me a few times. One that I remember that actually happen this past summer, was miscommunication for an out of town baby shower. I was getting ready to go to one …show more content…
Also, if someone wants to host a baby shower; it might be best not to put it on the same weekend as two other events. Therefor it is best sometimes to just write the objects down so everyone knows, send the message out more than once to make sure everyone gets the message, and no one is left out. Another mechanism that I learned was if a person wants someone to remember the whole gadget about what was said for example date changes, important information that the doctor needs to know, or a story; it might be best to write it down rather than the person memorizing all of what was said. Memorization for a long story, a date change, or an important item that the doctor needs to know is often difficult when there are many different objects that can happen before the person telling the what needs to be said gets told to the other person, or the doctor. These are just some ways that I learn so that hopefully miscommunication does not happen, or if it does happen again; a way that I can try to limit the
