Communication skills represent a pivotal requirement that must be taken into consideration by the team to make the decision. In order to perform well in this job, the country manager should be able to effectively communicate with each of the company’s stakeholders across India. Despite being able to speak English or the native language of India, it does not indicate that there is an understanding of the behaviours and social norms. Cultural and social interests are more important than language proficiency since it will be the main drive for a leader to learn about the new working environment and be more willing to adapt to the culture. On the other hand, as stated in the next pages, spouse support is going to play a critical role in the evaluation of one of the 5 candidates’ profiles. This criterion is considered to be the most important factors for future success for expatriates, we consider it not to be the most important one but to still play a large role in the selection process (Selmer, 2001).
Finally, our team believed other factors such as children family ties, vacations abroad and the sickness record to be less important for the decision.
