The Importance Of Communication In The Kroger Marketplace

Communication in the work place is very important. Without it a workplace could be chaotic. At my job we tend to communicate effectively but there are times when things do get crazy. At Kroger we have a system that helps us communicate with each other. So far it has seemed to work out. Even though we have only been open a few weeks, I find it easier to communicate with other coworkers there than I have at previous jobs. Some of the ways we communicate are a communication log, we have walkie talkies, and we have a team meeting every morning. Using these have made my work experience great. The purpose of the communication log is so that the cashier can communicate with managers and supervisors. By using the log, the cashiers can tell us of anything is wrong with the cash register. This way we know if there is anything that needs to be fixed on it. They can also make suggestion in there to help us improve. By doing this we can come up with ideas that help make the customer’s check out fast. Whether it’s making sure we have enough people up front or if we need to hire more people. Its where the store manager has a meeting with as many people as possible and discuss issues we might have or things that we are doing right. He lets us know in each department what thing we are doing good and things that need to be worked at. He reviews the customer satisfaction surveys with us, so we know what the customers are saying about us. If we get our name mentioned in these surveys, we get what is called a shining star. A shining star is a reward that you get when you do something good. It comes with a dollar off coupon that is good to use in the store. The store manager hands these out at the huddle. He also gets us pump for the day. By the store manager doing this it makes us feel appreciated. Knowing he communicates with his employees is something I really never had a previous
