Henry V demonstrates his ability to communicate with people from all, walks of life. When he gives his St. Crispin’s Day speech to his men just before a battle to where they were terribly outnumbered. In this speech, Henry demonstrates this ability to make all of his men feel valued and equal. In this essay, I will examine three examples that show Henry speaking to his men and demonstrating that they are all in the battle together. Before the battle Henry gives a speech, in one part he says “He that shall live this day, and see old age” with this that means he believes that any soldier that lives after fighting his battle to the best of his doing and makes it through the battle shall live a long time which is the reason he said he would live until an older age. He also states that when the men return …show more content…
Basically saying if they live or die that no matter what the names shall never be forgotten in one's mouth the name shall always thrive because of the actions taken during the battles. At the end of all of this, he eventually overcomes the fear of losing this entire time he has talked to his men about winning knowing his fear to lose to the French. The soldiers really believed that they would win and they were confident about the entire thing. He always said so much to motivate his men and keep them going to fight he would always reassure them about the battle. Henry said a lot more to motivate his men I just examined a few of them to give you a taste of Henry and his men, and how he motivated his men these examples in his speech really stuck out to me so I broke them down in more detail and a better understanding of the battle speeches and the band of brothers they will forever be there for each other no matter how bad it may

Henry V told them that not matter what humility they were born in, today, would make them noble. It was presented that all men at home safe in their beds would, “curse themselves for not having been here, and think less of their own manhood when they listen to the stories of those who fought with us here on St. Crispin’s Day.” He presented himself honestly but still, at the same time manipulated the crowd. Not in a deceitful way, but stating his opinion or idea with power. Henry used his speech to not only persuade, but to present himself as an unstoppable force to other kingdoms so they dare not attack him.…

In Act 4, Scene 1 of Shakespeare's Henry V, the king does incognito in a cloak to interact with the everyman of his army. This is in order to gauge feelings about the war and of the king himself. Luckily, Henry has experience in the realm of being a commoner, from his days of debauchery with Falstaff and the rest of the tavern crowd when he was Prince Harry.…

While King Henry V’s speeches are well placed due to their assistance in raising morale during battle, they actually help move the play along in a certain direction. For example, King Henry delivers a speech before the battle of Harfleur that affirms the audience’s faith in the English forces. Later, the king delivers another speech, his most famous speech, before the Battle of Agincourt. This speech is not necessarily one that promotes the idea of success, but rather the idea of acceptance of fate and encouragement of faith. Not only does this boost morale in the troops, but it gives the audience the feeling of acceptance that the battle will not end in the favor of the English.…
