Gogo Vs Femininity Case Study

Gogo is a masculine name that was popularized since the middle ages in the German culture. Gogo is my global villager, who happens to be a 60 year old male. Germans can speak several languages based on their regional dialects. Gogo is trilingual in three languages; German, Russian and English. The first aspect of communication that I will apply here is Masculinity Versus Femininity (Jandt 167). Germany is labeled as a masculine culture where men are expected to be tough, assertive, supportive, decisive and showing high performance in managing tasks. Germany has a variety of schools that children get separated into when old enough, to practice and become familiar with what is expected of them based on gender roles. Courtesies such as politeness and proper greetings help invite the individual to present themselves with confidence and insight about business work behaviors. The German business culture is generally strict, well- defined, and managed with responsibilities. When communicating in a business working environment, there are several behaviors one must follow to show respect while interacting. Gogo must remain reserved, serious, and punctual. Expressing emotions is considered to be unprofessional in public, therefore are mainly kept between family and close friends. Gogo is aware that when he initiates a conversation with a colleague or co-worker, he may not place his hands in his pockets, or place his feet on the furniture as it shows utter disrespect. The most typical form of greeting someone is a handshake. In business meetings, Germans will shake hands before and after the meeting, but will not shake hands while crossing someone else; as it is inappropriate and rude. Sensitivity and awareness about ones actions is highly expected as it displays proper discipline and respect for those around
